COLUMBUS
BEYOND THE FIELDS
Columbus is the 14th largest U.S. city and home to one of the largest and most diverse LGBTQIA+ populations - and largest Pride celebrations - in the Midwest. Columbus is an open and welcoming city that celebrates its inclusivity and diversity year round. Since 2013, the city has scored 100 on the Human Rights Campaign’s Municipal Equality Index annually, which measures how inclusive municipal laws, policies and services are for LGBTQIA+ people who live, work and visit there. The city regularly makes annual lists for top queer hotspots, best cities for food, art and young people, and is home to dozens of LGBTQIA+ owned businesses.
As a host city, Columbus is unique. We’re one of the only host cities in the country where the airport, hotels, event venues, nightlife and fields are all within a 15-20 minute ride.
But beyond the value and unparalleled convenience lies our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility. Our 2026 GSWS Host Committee will strive to embrace and uphold these values throughout your week here. From our programming to our spaces, we’re working to create an experience with all of our community in mind where no one is left behind and everyone feels right at home, here in Columbus. That’s our promise to you.
We're proud to call Columbus home, and we’re excited to welcome you to our city once again.
